NOVECENTO ROOM & BREAKFAST · PREVIEW
Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to get to know Novecento and ask for a stay, whatever device they use and however they browse. The website was built using the international WCAG 2.2 guidelines, level AA, as its reference.
What we have done
- Every page can be used with the keyboard alone; the first link lets you skip straight to the content.
- Photographs have a text description; headings, sections and forms are structured for screen readers.
- The button with the accessibility symbol, present on every page, opens the reading preferences: larger text, high contrast, underlined links and animations stopped.
- The website respects the “Reduce motion” setting of your device.
- The security code in the booking form has an alternative for those who cannot see the image: a written question.
- Text can be enlarged and pages adapt to small screens without horizontal scrolling.
- Form errors are shown next to the field and announced to screen readers.
How we checked it
On 4 October 2026 the pages of the website were checked with an automated testing tool (axe), on computer and on phone, and no errors were found. An automated check is no substitute for testing with people: the website has not yet been tested by users of assistive technologies.
Limits we know about
- In some sections text is placed over photographs: contrast may vary from one image to another.
- In the booking calendar you move from day to day with the Tab key; arrow keys are not yet supported.
- The galleries contain many period photographs: the descriptions are brief.
Did you run into a difficulty?
